WESTERN MAINE MOUNTAINS ROAD WATCH (Oxford, Somerset, and Franklin counties)
Western Maine Road Watch volunteers will survey a 1 to 10 mile-long section of road—by car or by foot— while recording any evidence of wildlife road crossing. Survey routes are located along Routes 2, 4, 16, 26, 27 and 201, in an area of the state that has been identified by many conservation efforts as critical habitat for large-scale wildlife movement in New England. Volunteers are needed to complete a minimum of 6 surveys from April through September 2013. Please click here to see a map of the survey routes.
Training Webinar: Volunteers are encouraged to participate in one of our online training webinars, scheduled for Sunday, April 7th (10-11:30 a.m.) and Wednesday, April 10th (6:30-8 p.m.).
