somewhat confident
Observation Date / Time

The animal was located between the two southbound lanes and was facing south, so I couldn't see it's head. The fur looked like coyote fur, however, and I would estimate its size of the animal to be roughly 30-35 lbs. I did not see any blood, and the carcass didn't look like it had been driven over yet. This made me think it must have been hit quite recently.

Location Description
On the east side of the freeway is a cow pasture. There is a concrete median that would probably prevent any coyote from getting to the west side from the east. The animal was located just past where vehicles merge from 156W onto 101S. It's also just past the crest of a hill, where drivers aren't able to see what is ahead.
Roadside Features
