Little youngster, maybe 13-14. I've been riding my bike along this stretch of road as my neighborhood ride for 16 years, often a few days per week during the summer, and often in the early evening when herps come out onto the side of the road. While I've seen heaps of boas along this road, I've only ever seen two gophers, both DOR, and both within the last three years (when I've been riding considerably less often than in the past). The fact that this was a youngster sure makes me think there must be a population establishing somewhere along here. The other one was right near the Boca Dam, and was total road pizza. I was only 90% sure of the species, but this finding cements it in my mind.
