Observation Date / Time

I was traveling south on Hwy 41 in Coarsegold (near what locals know as the old Broken Bit). Elevation approximately 2300'. Traffic had slowed considerably, and soon I could see what appeared to be a large dog that had just been hit. As I slowly rolled past it, I could see it was a brown or cinnamon-colored Black Bear, most likely a yearling, i.e. not a little cub but not yet full grown. My apologies for the poor quality photo. The weather was clear and warm, about 89 degrees. I have no information on the status of the driver or the vehicle.
