Observation Date / Time

Mt lion was about ten feet from the edge of the road, on the south side of the south bound lane of Highway 1 and about 50 yards from the Vandenberg Village exit sign. Lion was probably a road kill and had bloating in the abdominal cavity. We would guess it had been dead for one to two days and it did not smell. We could not see any physical damage but we did not move the carcass. The body length was about four feet. The coat was in excellent condition.
